The home of the Tingly Badger
Hello, and welcome to my site.
I got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2014 and I’d like to share my journey with you.
I started off relapsing-remitting, and am now secondary progressive. I’ll talk about my symptoms, how I manage them, and my day-to-day life. I am going to discuss my progress and the things I am doing to improve. I am going to lay it bare and some of it might not be easy reading, but someone’s got to talk about it!
I’m also a passionate environmentalist and in 2023 I earned a first-class degree in Environmental Science from the Open University, after starting 16 years before that. It was a long, hard journey but I got there in the end. I will discuss that, and share the interesting documentaries and podcasts I watch and listen to to keep up-to-date with what’s going on. I listen to a wide range of podcasts; some science, some environment, some political, and some interesting interviews with people that have inspired me. I’ll share everything and post links if you are interested.
I want to talk about various aspects of my life and will link any relevant science papers and information, because I don’t want to just spout my opinions. I’m a scientist and I like facts so I always try and back everything up.
Look out for ‘Today I Learned’ posts if you fancy a podcast recommendation. Every day’s a school day! I love learning new things and there’s so much science and stuff going on around the world that I always like to hear about discoveries. I also listen to inspiring stories from other disabled people because it gives me some hope. I will link all my podcasts so you can have a listen if you would like.
I’ll also include a bit about my cat because who doesn’t love cats?!
Please subscribe to get notified of new posts. Send me an email or leave me a comment and I’ll endeavour to get back to you!
